Clarence L. Raynor, known as “C.L.” to family and friends went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 21, 2023.
Clarence was born on April 14, 1949 in Pine Level, North Carolina the son of the late Willie C. Raynor and Arlene Game Raynor. Clarence graduated from North Johnston High School in North Carolina in 1967. He joined the United States Air Force in 1968 where he served for 20 years.
Durning his time in the Air Force he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant in the Environmental Systems Field. He was selected for several special teams to go repair disabled aircraft and earned three meritorious service medals.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1988 Clarence worked several different job. Then in 1993 he worked at Walmart thru a temp agency setting up the store for opening. Walmart hired him in 1995 and he worked there for 20 years before retiring in 2015.
Clarence loved Bluegrass music. He played the banjo and guitar. Clarence was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching football especially when the Vikings played.
Hobbies Clarence enjoyed were wood working and photography. He made several pieces of furniture and took several college photography courses and had his own darkroom equipment to develop photos he took.
Clearance enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A highlight of his week was his Saturday coffee date at Dunkin Donuts with his best friend Keith.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years Glenda Ballance Raynor, daughter Rhonda Raynor Selma NC, a son Robert Raynor of Keeseville, NY, a granddaughter Haley Raynor, a brother Bobby Raynor and sister-law Teresa of Pine Level, NC, a sister Lisa Raynor Davis of Pine Level NC, a brother-law Paul Ballance of Pikeville, NC, a sister-in-law Fran Ballance of Pikeville, NC and several nieces and nephews in North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held at Bread of Life Baptist Church on Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh on Saturday February 4 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donation can be made to North Country Honor Flight and the Disabled Veterans.
A future Celebration of Life will be held with family and friends in North Carolina in April 2023.
