Clarence LaVarnway passed away peacefully July 25th, 2015 at UVM Health Network CVPH in Pattsburgh, with his family by his side. He was born in Saranac on July 11, 1932 son of the late Nelson and Anna (LeJeune) LaVarnway, Jr.
Clarence was a correction officer for 34 years but his passion was being a farmer/woodcutter and neighborhood watchman.
He is survived by children Scott and his wife Liz Stowe of Cadyville, John and his wife Mary Stowe or Morrisonville, and Kathy and her husband Hugh Fayette or Churubusco and their families. He is also survived by one sister Margaret Bell of Saranac and one sister in law Mae LaVarnway of Saranac. He is predeceased by his wife Veronica, his daughter Debra, a brother and two sisters.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday July, 31, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers donations in Clarence’s memory may be made to the Saranac Fire Department or St. Josephs Church.
