Carolyn Elaine (Bosworth) Goff

Carolyn Elaine (Bosworth) Goff, 93, of Lewis, N.Y., born August 26, 1929, daughter of Clifford and Mabel (Peckham) Bosworth, passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2023.

Carolyn graduated from Glens Falls High School in 1947. She also graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1951 with her teaching degree. Carolyn worked at the local phone company and started teaching school at Elizabethtown Lewis Central School. She had an everlasting effect on so many children who passed through her classroom. Forever our kindergarten teacher “Mrs. Goff” was loved by all! In 1955 she married Philip N. Goff. Carolyn and Phil lived in Potsdam, N.Y. for a short time before moving to Lewis to raise their four children and build their home on Goff Road.

Carolyn was a wonderful mom and grandma who loved her family above all else. She was always there for everyone. Carolyn was a large part of the community being a member of Eastern Star, Women’s Fellowship and very involved with the local church community. She was always spreading happiness. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Carolyn was always a talented hard worker both at home and at work. She was an expert at canning, cooking, knitting, crocheting and was also a caregiver to so many. Carolyn was also known to show up at the family run sawmill to lend a helping hand. She had also worked hard to get her permit to drive an eighteen wheeler, she was always amazing us. In retirement, Carolyn and Phil enjoyed traveling with friends (the Crazy Eights) but being home was always their favorite place to be.

Carolyn is survived by her children Hugh “Will” Goff (Laurie); Nancy Siarkowski and Henry Goff, all of Lewis, N.Y.; grandchildren Robert, Amanda (Joey), Benjamin (Kendra), Briana and Meagan; great-grandchildren Cecelia, Franklin, Ava, Aria, Huck and Reed; sisters Joan Lapham and Barbara Varney (Lewis) of Queensbury, N.Y.; one niece and many nephews.
Carolyn was predeceased by her parents; husband Philip N. Goff; sister Norma (Bosworth) Carpenter; son Philip N. Goff, Jr. and daughter-in-law Tammy Goff.

Private Interment Services being held at the convenience of the family.
