Carol C. Pierce, age 80, of Lewis, N.Y. entered eternal life on Saturday November 26, 2022 with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Elizabethtown, NY on December 16, 1941, the daughter of the late Harlan and Kathleen Smith Carson. Carol graduated from Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School and Albany Business College. She was married to James E. Pierce on August 27, 1960.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Lewis and taught Sunday School for many years. Her greatest joy was her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband James of Lewis; her three children: Maureen (Skip) Dougan of Parker, CO; Lisa (Gerry Hill) Pierce of Lewis, NY; Timothy (Dana) Pierce of Lewis, NY; sister Diane Cathcart of Morganton, NC; brothers Harlan “Bruv" (Aiden) Carson of Asheville, NC: Brian(Elizabeth) Carson of Bullhead City, AZ: Neal(Karen) Carson of Cape Vincent, NY. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Lance Cross of Lewis, NY: Jamie Bureau of Arvada, Co.: Nicole Pierce of Watervliet, NY; James (Sarah) Pierce of Watervliet, NY: Samantha (Kevin) Doran of Cohoes, NY: Michael (Jennifer) Dougan of Elizabeth, CO: Shannon Canavan of Lewis, NY; Derek Cole of Lewis, NY and 11 Great-grandchildren. Also Niece Kristin Cathcart of Mooresville, NC, Nephews Ian Cathcart of Las Vegas, NV and Jeffrey Pierce of Lewis, NY.
Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the North Country SPCA.
A graveside service will be held in the spring. The date and time will be announced at a later date.
