Carol A. McLean

Carol A. McLean (née Owens), of Plattsburgh, NY, died peacefully at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility on August 18, 2018. She was 82 years old.
Carol was born on November 29, 1935, in Plattsburgh, NY, the eldest child to John and Leona (Bennett) Owens. Carol attended and graduated from St. Johns Academy in Plattsburgh, NY, Class of 1954 and attended Nursing School at Albany Medical Center. Carol spent a long career as a Dental Assistant in the Office of Dr. Adolf Dittmar in Plattsburgh, NY. She married Loren “Mac” McLean in Plattsburgh, NY, on October 2, 1954, at St. John’s Catholic Church. Carol and Mac raised their four children in Morrisonville, NY, and were lifelong residents of the North Country.
Carol is survived by her four children, Lorene (Terry) Saunders of Dannemora, NY; Sheryl McLean of Plattsburgh, NY; Kerrie (Patrick) Keleher of Peru, NY; and Michael McLean of Plattsburgh, NY. Her seven grandchildren; Stacey Saunders, Caitlyn (Mark) Worley, Tiffany (Arthur) Demar, Brandon (Catherine) Keleher, Jordon (Angela) Keleher, Connor (Emily) Keleher and Garret McLean. Her four great-grandchildren, Hunter Demar, Elora Worley, Kip Keleher and Cullen Keleher; Her brother John’s children from Georgia, Carol Owens-Norman, John Owens and James Owens. And her special extended family Dean and Nancy Pierce and family from Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren McLean in 1996, her parents, and her brother John Owens.
At Carol’s request there will be no calling hours or services. A private interment will be done at the family’s convenience. Arrangements are with Healds Funeral Home of Plattsburgh, NY. A special thanks to Meadowbrook Health Care Facility, fourth floor staff for the three years of compassionate, special care they gave Carol.
