Carey L. Liss

Carey L. Liss, age 67, of Wallace Hill Rd. Plattsburgh, N.Y. died in his home of natural causes on February 16th, 2023. He was born to Shirley (Winternitz) and Abraham Liss on March 8, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. Carey graduated from Steuben Metropolitan High School. He worked for many years at Nightingale Conant Press in Chicago. He also spent several years working as a manager for Domino’s pizza in Syracuse, N.Y. Carey was a veteran, he spent four years in the air force in the 70’s. He moved to Plattsburgh, N.Y. in the 2000’s to be closer to his uncle Irving Winternitz and family. Carey worked for the Red Cross in Plattsburgh for a few years before retiring. Carey led a very simple life but was ever curious about psychology and did attend an online college to study this later in life. He had many opinions about the world and was pursuing his dream to write a book. Carey is survived by his brother Norman Liss, Uncle Irving Winternitz (Alice), Niece’s Abby Schexider (Nolton), Samantha Liss, Jennifer Smith, nephew Joey Liss, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Shirley and Abraham Liss, his sister Sheila Liss and his grandparents Morry and Rose Winternitz. A graveside service will take place at Temple Beth Israel Cemetery at 11am on Sunday, February 19th.
