Brandon M. "Pat" Brant

Brandon”Pat” M. Brant, 91 , of Westport, passed away September 5, 2017. He was born April 16, 1926 the son of Earl and Mary (Dougan) Brant. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Evelyn Talbot Brant; son: Allen (Jeannette Bond) Brant of Burdett, NY; daughters: Faylene (Lyman) Davis of Westport, NY; Helen Eagle of Westport ,NY ; Marie (Micheal) Davis of Sharon Springs, NY; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Brandon is also survive by two sisters: Mrs. Mary Pierce of Saranac, NY, and Mrs. Althea Crandall of Wheeling ,IL.
He is predeceased by: two brothers, John and Ellis; a sister, Jenny McCasland.
Brandon worked many years for the Ausable Valley Telephone Co., later for Cabots and the Chazy Westport Telephone Co.. On his farm, he grew certified trefoil and sunflower seeds.
He enjoyed working on his antique cars, hunting, fishing, and reading. His grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him much joy.
A Veteran of WWII, Brandon served in the 94th Infantry. There will be a graveside service at 11 AM, Saturday, Sept 9 at the Essex County Veterans Cemetery, County Route 8 (Wadhams-Elizabethtown Rd. ) Westport, NY.
Memorial donations may be made to the Westport Emergency Medical Services or your favorite charity.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown.
