Betty King, 78, of Standish passed away unexpectedly Saturday January 12, 2013 at her home. She was born in Standish on January 20, 1934 daughter of the late Louis and Stella (Macey) Lashway. Betty loved playing cards. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by one daughter and son in law Sandra and Roy Pickering of Saranac, one sister Arma Bradfield, one brother Kenny Lashway, eight grandchildren Betty Alexander, Bobbi Dupraw, Brenda Pickering, Deborah Rodriguez, Amy Jalbert, William Barnaby, Raymond Barnaby, Jr. and Jamie Ormsby, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Frederick King, Jr., two daughter Janet Slyman and Bernadette Barnaby, and sixteen brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM from Church of the Assumption in Redford. Burial will be held later this year at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Lyon Mountain. In lieu of flowers donations in Betty’s memory may be made to American Red Cross in Plattsburgh.
