Anne Gloria Frieary

June 2, 1934 — November 13, 2021

Anne Gloria Frieary, 87, of Keene Valley, NY passed away on November 13, 2021 at Elderwood of Uihlein of Lake Placid, after a four-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Anne was born on June 2, 1934 to Alexander and Rae Siciliano in Manhattan. She graduated from A.B. Davis High School in Mount Vernon, NY.

Anne was a fixture in Keene Valley, where she lived for nearly 50 years. She moved there in 1972 with her son Andy, her second husband George and their two dogs, Georgie and Mama. Though she lived in the heart of the Adirondack, she preferred the view from below, only twice hiking, once to the top of NippleTop and again with her baby granddaughter and son to Baxter Mountain. Anne was an avid sports fan, attending many Keene Central high school games in the 70’s and early 80’s, and always cheering on her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. During her retirement, Anne was active with the town’s senior citizen group and always enjoyed a lively political discussion.

Over the many years of her working life, Anne held a number of different jobs that included, but were not limited to: key punch operator for Con Edison and the former Standard Vacuum Oil; bar and restaurant owner/operator; Head Housekeeper, Howard Johnsons, Lake Placid, NY, and Executive Housekeeper, Westchester Country Club, Rye, NY, where she stayed for a decade. After her retirement in 1996, Anne moved back to Keene Valley and was happiest in her home, in front of her wood stove, enjoying visits from her family and friends.

Anne is survived by her only child, Andrew J. Pelosi, his wife, Luisa, and two loving granddaughters, Gabriella and Cassandra. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in law Anthony and Rosemary Siciliano. In addition, she is survived by three nieces: Patricia Alexander, Linda Pelosi-Dunn and Antonia Siciliano, four nephews: Peter Pelosi, Carl Siciliano, Alec Siciliano, Eric Siciliano and another sister-in-law Tricia Frieary.

The family has not finalized arrangements but plan to hold a memorial service in Anne’s honor in the near future.

Her family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her honor to the Keene and Keene Valley Fire Departments https://www.townofkeeneny.com/emergency-services/
