Allyson Faye Liberty Nelson of Peru passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at her home under the care of Hospice of the North Country, with her loved ones by her side.
Allyson was born in Plattsburgh, New York, on February 18, 1961. The daughter of Fred and Patricia Liberty.
She recently retired as a bus driver for Peru School. In her spare time, she enjoyed relaxing at camp and listening to music with family and friends. Allyson was fond of traveling; her favorite place to visit was the ocean or anywhere with a beach. She was also known to enjoy a good book.
Left to cherish Allyson’s memory are her loving husband of 24 years, Russell Nelson; daughters, Michelle Trost, and Toni (Stephen) Moffat; Mother, Patricia Stone, several sisters and brothers Candace Hislop, Cindy (Rick) McKee, Terry (Robin) Liberty, Star (Gordon) Benjamin, Allan (Nancy) Liberty; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John (Karen) Nelson, Catherine (Rick) Ceckowski, James Nelson; grandsons Greyson Moffat and Aedan Bilyu; along with many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nephews; and a good friend Mike Bilyu.
Allyson is predeceased by her father, Fred Liberty; father and mother-in-law, Julia and John Nelson; brothers-in-law, David Hislop and William Nelson; sister-in-law, Barbara Boudett; nephews Corrie Liberty and Allan Liberty JR.
There will be a funeral service and burial for family and friends at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru on Wednesday, July 12 at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the North County for their grace and support.
