Albert W. Baughn,Jr., 87, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 31, 2018 at University of Vermont CVPH surrounded by his family. He was born in Plattsburgh NY on July 23,1930 the son of Albert Sr, and Emma Gebo Baughn.
Mr. Baughn was a US Veteran as he served in the United States Air Force. He was employed at Mc Martin Motors, K-Mart Automotive, and VW Celeste Motors. Albert retired from the Motor Pool at Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Albert, known to his siblings as Jr, or “Bug” was a truly gifted mechanic. Most friends called him Al. His passion for old cars, motorcycles, and boats was obvious by peeking in his garage or yard!. In his good health it was nothing to find Al under a car working on a challenging motor or putting a motorcycle back together. Many weekends you would find Al spending countless hours working on friends or family member’s vehicle until he had it running perfectly. Al was very proud of all his children and grandchildren. Family was important to him. He always had a story about one of them wearing his big smile as he shared it! After retirement as Albert’s health prevented him from working on cars, he took up another hobby. His dear friend Tina Link taught him the trade of making stain glass. Al spent his spare time with this new hobby and assisting Tina at trade shows. Al loved being around people and keeping busy.
